Here at Simulation In Motion - Montana (SIM-MT), we are very excited to announce that we are the recipient of a generous grant from the Otto Bremer Trust (OBT).  This grant will be used for the general operations of providing high-fidelity simulation training to first-responders and emergency clinicians across rural Montana.  Our mission is to improve patient outcomes and save lives.  Non-profit organizations such as ours rely heavily on these donations to bring our world-class healthcare simulation programs to the far reaches of our wonderful state.

The OBT is a bank holding company and a private charitable trust based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, that works at the intersection of finance and philanthropy.  Created in 1944 by Otto Bremer, it is today one of the nation’s largest philanthropic organizations and is committed to supporting a better quality of life for residents of Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, and Wisconsin.  OBT is the majority owner of Bremer Financial Corporation, a regional financial services company; manages a diversified investment portfolio; and operates Community Benefit Financial Company, a financial resources subsidiary.  Since its founding, OBT has invested more Thant $841 million in people, places, and opportunities in the Upper Midwest.

OBT’s mission reflects the vision of Mr. Bremer and his longstanding commitment to communities during and after the Great Depression.  He came to Minnesota as a German immigrant in 1886 seeking opportunity, and over the next 36 years, worked his way up to become chairman of the American National Bank. He was a dedicated community leader involved in civic, financial, and corporate life.  Mr. Bremer liquidated many of his personal assets during the Great Depression to help independent rural banks, as he believed that people could survive and flourish if they had effective resources at critical times.

The organization was built to reflect both the opportunities and the challenges found throughout our region.  The OBT continues to be mindful of the extraordinary legacy that Mr. Bremer left behind and to be faithful stewards of his vision.  His great concern for those working to make their lives better has become the cornerstone of the OBT.  The Trust’s investment philosophy is what Mr. Bremer recognized as Good Lives Here. This is how strategic investments change lives - one story at a time.  His legacy endures.  It’s a fitting tribute to a visionary man.

The OBT continues to see a growth in its assets, which is the engine for its continued charitable distributions. We at SIM-MT are proud to be recognized as a quality non-profit organization worthy of a grant from the OBT.  Thanks to their belief in our cause, we will continue to work to improve the quality of life for the residents of rural Montana.  It is our mission.  Please join us.
